People interested in POSIX on NT should also take a look at David Korn's
UWIN package which claims to contain "nearly all the X/Open Release 4
headers, interfaces and commands". It's described in his "Porting UNIX
to Windows NT" paper in last month's USENIX Technical Conference. He
mentioned that it might be made available in binary form.

Check the URL http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/ for further details.

ObLinux:
David Korn had a few good things to say about Linux.
Quoting from his USENIX paper:

There appear to be few if any technical reasons to
move from UNIX to Windows NT. The performance of
Linux(*) exceeds that of NT 4.0 and Linux appears to
be more reliable. On three occasions NT 4.0 crashed
when running the performance tests. There were no
crashes with Linux.
