Have encountered this interesting Audio Tape conflict. Compiled 2.0.28
yesterday for tape (QIC-02/80) and Audio. The audio, which obviously
initializes first for IRQ 5 prevents the ftape driver from doing the
same:
Sound initialization started
<Sound Blaster 16 (4.13)> at 0x220 irq 5 dma 1,5
Sound initialization complete
tpqic02: IRQ 5, DMA 1, IO 0x300, IFC Wangtek, $Revision: 0.4.1.5 $,
$Date: 1994/10/29 02:46:13 $
tpqic02: can't allocate IRQ5 for QIC-02 tape
ftape-2.08 960314 for Linux 1.3.70
loop: registered device at major 7
First of all, I was impressed - didn't know about this dynamic IRQ
addressing - nice one. Anyways, everything seems to work fine, BUT -
about 6 megs into a backup with this kernel, the backup stops and
the CPU is pegged. The whole affair stops then. I'm using BRU 14.3.
I'd upgrade to 2.0.29 normally before posting this, but the 0.29
desc doesn't seem to be relevant.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Kevin
