Last I checked, the Grub (an alternative bootloader that is, IMHO, much
nicer than LILO) didn't support the bzImage format. If zImage was done
away with, I'd be up the creek(Or I'd have to reinstall LILO). If you're
interested in checking out grub, look at www.uruk.org/grub/grub.html. It
does some nice things like having a menu, being able to read the
filesystem directly, and has nicer command line editting than LILO.
