This is really nice work. In fact, I think the configuration manager
you have written can provide a huge step towards completely cleaning
up our device driver subsystem in the kernel.
It should be trivial to add the necessary support for bus and dma/io
architecture specific things some other platforms (Sparc, M68k, etc.)
need. This in particular is what I like about the configuration
manager.
