Hmmm.. complete rewrite sounds like a 'lot of work'. I'd like to mail you my
additions to lp.c adapted to the parport project before everything gets
changed. Your intention is to improve the portability of the driver? Yes, I
think this is a good idea. There is also some space for improvements. How
about a 'select' call?
