I was using it with 2.0.27 and 2.0.30 on a dual Intel Pentium 200. But it had
worked only whan the kernel was compilled without SMP. In the SMP-enabled
2.0.30 kernel the driver crashes, (goes into endless loop od resetting the
SCSI and doing something just after:
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
OR does not detect one disk OR works on the next boot (I was afraid to try
again).
_But_ I had no problems at all with the patch, which was mentioned here

Subject: Patch for AHA2940AU
Hello,
this patch helps with problems when using an AHA2940AU:

The problem and the solution have been discovered by Peter Pointner. He
reported it to the Maintainer of the driver. Maybe this patchlet should
make it into 2.0.30, as 2.0.29 is still missing it...

It did not make it into 2.0.30 ...
The configuration of my machine is on http://131.152.105.107/machine/
BTW. Is it possible to use Ultra (SCSI-3) and normal SCSI-2 devices on a
single cable ? It seems to me, that my CD-ROM slows down my SCSI bus.
