Re: 3Com 3c900 is "unknown device" in patched 2.0.29 (or 2.0.30)

I ran into the same problem ("unknown device") when I installed a clean
2.0.30 kernel on a box with a couple of 3c905 cards. As you stated, the
cards would not talk to the network. I had to go back down to the clean
2.0.29, which recognizes the cards. I am also having to use v0.30 905
driver, since v0.39 and v0.40 cause the 3c905 card on the busy interface
to become inoperable. The exact error messages in this case were reported
previously, but I am willing to upgrade the driver again if the exact
error messages are needed once more.
