Hello, People !

I got some strange behavior under [2.1.42] : mingetty was failing to
access ttys, it was saying:
Jun 1 14:42:47 hydroel mingetty[1024]: /dev/tty1: cannot open tty: Operation not permitted

strace showed :

chown(ptrace: umoven: I/O error
0xbffffcf0, 0, 0) = 0
chmod(ptrace: umoven: I/O error
0xbffffcf0, 0600) = 0
sigaction(SIGHUP, {SIG_IGN}, NULL) = 0
open(ptrace: umoven: I/O error
0xbffffcf0, O_RDWR) = 3
ioctl(3, TIOCSCTTY) = -1 EPERM (Operation not permitted)
sigaction(SIGPIPE, {0x40076480, [], 0}, {SIG_DFL}) = 0
socket(PF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 4

The second thing happened was that init command didn't work at all. It
opened initctl, wrote something there but nothing right was done after.

All that I done before was stopping and starting network (BTW redhat 4.0
don't support right aliased interfaces.)

Any suggestions ?

Bye.
