/usr/src/linux is a link to /usr/src/linux-2.1.40
I've tried using the 2.1.42 kernel and it compiles fine.
[ Now /usr/src/linux points to /usr/src/linux-2.1.42]
Oh well..works now, thanks for the help everyone...
PS kernels seems to be coming out at a really fast rate - like it!
