Some weeks ago I had a lot of crashes (or lock, because I can' t see the
Oops because I am using X) with no SMP [2.1.39/40]. The kernel crashed a
lot of times always using the modem connected to internet in ppp and using
netscape with a lot of istance.

My kernel crashes the last time one or two weeks ago with no SMP [2.1.42].

I remember that in all crashes I was using my 28800 modem connected with
my comuter using a 57K (and not 115K) serial line.

Since I have replaced my serial line connected to the modem, the kernel
does' t crash.

The crashes can be caused for example by a buffer overrun of the serial
device or something similar or is a case that now it works fine? The
serial device can contain such bug?
