What's the most stable 2.1 kernel?

I need a masquerading firewall that can do policy based routing and
some web serving. What's the best 2.1 kernel? Recent post suggest .43
and .44 are "toxic", and .42 kept crashing in kernel paging. I'm
trying .41 now.

Also, has anyone managed to get the Digiboard epca driver working with
a PC/Xe board?
