Just compiled 2.1.46.. Everything looks good, so far.. Except...
When compiling smbfs as a module...
sock.c: In function `smb_catch_keepalive':
sock.c:131: structure has no member named `f_inode'
sock.c: In function `smb_dont_catch_keepalive':
sock.c:178: structure has no member named `f_inode'
sock.c: In function `server_sock':
sock.c:325: structure has no member named `f_inode'
make[2]: *** [sock.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/fs/smbfs'
make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/fs'
make: *** [modules] Error 2
Also, when compiling msdos and vfat as modules, numerous warnings show
up in namei.c at the following lines:
namei.c:56: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:59: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:61: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:788: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:789: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:791: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:793: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:794: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
namei.c:796: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
There are more of the same in fs/vfat/namei.c. This may become a
problem to those who are mounting vfat filesystems, as I've just discovered
that my mountpoint for my C drive has just become an executable file..
Also, I get the following when running depmod on binfmt_a.out.o:
/lib/modules/2.1.46/fs/binfmt_aout.o: unresolved symbol init_private_file
Any thoughts, anyone? I'll check into the namei.c problem, but
the rest I'll need help on.
BL.
