A fix has been made, it's in the latest version of the aic7xxx driver, but
that won't help your boot disks unless you have someplace to compile a new
kernel. You can get the updated driver from ftp://ftp.pcnet.com/users/eische
n/Linux and use them. Or, you can wait for 2.0.31 since this updated driver
is slated for inclusion there.
