In other words,... when I edit a file of 10 megs, it is really HIGHLY
likely to get a corrupted (logical) partition table:

>/sbin/fdisk
Using /dev/hda as default device!
Warning: ignoring extra data in partition table 6
Warning: ignoring extra data in partition table 6
Warning: ignoring extra data in partition table 6
Warning: invalid flag 3332 of partition table 6 will be corrected by w(rite)

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/hda: 128 heads, 63 sectors, 779 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 8064 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Begin Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 1 261 1052320+ 6 DOS 16-bit >=32M
/dev/hda2 262 262 294 133056 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda3 * 295 295 306 48384 83 Linux native
/dev/hda4 307 307 779 1907136 5 Extended
/dev/hda5 308 308 357 201600 83 Linux native
/dev/hda6 ? 100403 100621 211287446205979+ 34 Unknown

This is the second time this happened within a few hours :/
(The first time I didn't edit a large file).

Carlo

PS Still ext2 fs, linux-2.0.30.
