isofs problems w/ 2.1.57?

I have just verified that something's broken with CD mounts on 2.1.57. On
initial mount, I get a message about "..CD-ROM reports illegal IOCTL" but
the mount completes. Unfortunately, I can then see only a portion of the
directories on the CD!

Granted, this is an ancient 2x NEC CDR-73 SCSI reader, but it works just
fine under 2.0.31 and _used_ to work correctly under 2.1.x. It has always
required that vendor-specific features be turned off on the latter,
however.

Any ideas? Has something changed in the bowels of the SCSI cd driver or
filesystem drivers?
