When the machine is under a constant high load, it stops responding on the
ethernet card, and I have to do a ifconfig down and ifconfig up to give it
back life, or sometimes it completely hangs, nothing on screen, nothing in
the logs, just the Big Red Button to press.
I already tried to change the SMC (tulip based) card for a Intel 10/100
card, that's the same thing. I tried with kernel 2.0.30, 2.0.31pre2
(DaveM), 2.0.31pre9, 2.0.31pre10, that's always the same thing, it stops
responding or hang.
The only positive point is when running a uniprocessor kernel on it, it
runs like a charm.
If anybody wants to help me to understand what's going on, you're welcome.
