2.1.76 strange behaviour

I'm trying 2.1.76 on a SMP production machine where 2.0.33 crash too
often. 2.1.76 seems to be more stable on SMP machine but:

[root@vega ~]# kill -9 11006
[root@vega ~]# ps eaux | grep 11006

[root@vega ~]#

I can't kill process which are in running state
