The "p" is only used when referring to non-Solaris partitions on the disk,
AFAIK. Otherwise, the nomenclature is Controller/Drive/Slice for IDE,
and Controller/Target(LUN)/Drive/Slice for SCSI.
Personally, as has already been pointed out in other messages, I see no
direct advantage to "compatibility" with Solaris or other naming schemes,
if it comes at the expense of comprehensibility.
