Ahhh....here's the problem :) You have a 2742T controller, and the version
of the driver in 2.1.80-pre-2 evidently is the same as the one that was ine
2.0.31-pre-7, which happens to stomp on the 2742T cards in a bad way. This
was fixed before hte 2.0.31 real kernel was released. The easiest way to
fix this, is to grab the files out of the directory /pub/linux/aic7xxx/dan
on ftp.dialnet.net. These two patches are the patches that went into the
aic7xxx driver after 2.0.31-pre-7 and they fixed the 2742T problem and the
buffer overflow in the aic7xxx_proc.c file. I can't gaurantee that the
patches go in totally painlessly, but it should be fairly close.
