I think you'll find that the error is "Scheduling in interrupt", and it starts
as soon as the network is brought up. Try compiling the driver as a module to
check - it should go down as soon as you "ifconfig eth0 up"

There is good news, however: we're using 3c59x.c version 0.46C with a 3c905,
and it seems happy here on an SX164 in 2.1.8[45]
