2.1.85 problems with IO-APIC + timer

Hi,
Using 2.1.85 with the IO-APIC-2.1.85-B patch, If I give the option
pirq=0 then the machine will panic on the line:

panic("IO-APIC + timer doesnt work!");

The machine is a dual ppro 200, with a Supermicro P6DNE mb. Whats the next
step?
