Don, Do you really need ide-scsi emulation? In that case the
scsi driver will take over your ATAPI devices (eg, cdrom).
So you need to configure scsi cdrom but not atapi cdrom.
Unless if you really need ide-scsi (eg. if you have an atapi
cd-writer) I recommend that you turn off ide-scsi emulation (in
the block-device menu) and scsi (in the scsi menu).
