It works pretty well on the system I have been testing it on. Seems a
little slower to compile a kernel than 2.0.32 but I will present exact
numbers with a better controlled test tomarrow.
Had a compile running on one VC, top running on another, and I was doing
some interactive work on a third.
Resonse was OK on the interactive VC, though the display would fall behind
sometimes and suddenly "catch up" while I was typing. This would be
expected considering the load it was under and how tight it was on RAM. I
will run a direct comparison against 2.0.32 under the same conditions
tomarrow.
This looks like the best kernel I have built in the .86-.93 range. Looks
like things are on the right track. The Sig11 failures appear to be CPU
heat related. A dab of heatsink compound obtained from a local Radio
Shack on the back of the heatsink appears to have greatly reduced them and
I picked up a new fan that will go in tomarrow afternoon.
Nice work folks!
