2.1.94 (and 2.1.93) fail to recognize scsi card

Has any one had problems with any of the kernels since 2.1.90 (this is the
last one that I know works) not being able to recognize ncr53c7xx based
scsi? 2.1.90 works great for me but for some reason whenever I try to
boot one of the newer kernels on bootup it always says

scsi: 0 hosts

I'm guessing that this was a simple change somewhere.
