Lockup in reboot_setup & hard_idel under 2.0.33

Recently I upgraded my machine to a Pentium 233 MMX with a VIA
580 chipset. I have been getting some strange lockups when booting
my machine lately. It'll hang right after starting nfsd (Slackware)
and a IP dum shows that it is bouncing between reboot_setup and
hard_idle, it just gets stuck in that loop. Anyone got a clue as
to why? I just hard reset and it doesn't happen again.
