Last night I had to write a couple CD-R's to send some software to some
clients. Here's what I did (kmod installed modules in parens):

o Dialed out to my ISP. (ppp.o)
o Downloaded the shareware of pkzip.
o Removed the C: drive from the PC and attached it to the Linux box.
Booted and mounted it (vfat.o, codepage, etc).
o Moved the pkzip software to it, downed the Linux box. I swear I'm
buying a NIC for it this week! Finished the PC setup.
o Re-attached the hard drive to the Linux box (vfat.o, codepage, etc)
o Ran mkisofs on it.
o Mounted the image (loop.o, iso9660.o)
o Looked ok...
o Unmounted the image.
o ran cdrecord (sg.o)
o mounted the cdrom to verify a good burn (sr.o)
o umounted cd and burned another one and verified it as well.

All this was done with the timeout set to 120. The modules all got
removed without a hitch. It worked flawlessly.

To the author of kmod: I owe you a drink of your choice. Let me know when
you're in Houston to collect.
