2.1.96 errors

I successfully compiled my first pre patch and things seem to be going
along nice. I even finally got parport going in interrupt mode. I have
a question though and some error output from the compile. My
system is an AMD K6-166 with 32 MB RAM running RedHat 5.0.

When/if prepatch 2 comes out, do I apply that over prepatch 1 or does it
apply to a clean 2.1.95?

Following errors resulted from the compile:

ppp.c:3214: warning: `ppp_register_compressor' defined but not used
ppp.c:3241: warning: `ppp_unregister_compressor' defined but not used
tcp_ipv4.c: In function `tcp_v4_rcv':
