Gone in 2.1.96: arp_ioctl: invalid, null device

Hi,

I was getting this in kernels < 2.1.96 when connecting via PPP to the
2.1.96 box, that was acting as a PPP server:

arp_ioctl: invalid, null device

but now they seem to be gone.

Did someone change something in 2.1.96 that made that possible? Or is
it me that changed something else in my system?
