2.1.96 working well on three Free boxes

Other than the \240 at line 116 in kmod.c, no problems. I have it
working on a 486 VLB machine, a k5 PCI and a PPro PCI box. The latter,
as220.org, is a webserver and router and other stuff, so is a good workout
for it. Nice work, guys.
