I just noticed that my PPP connection was running really slowly.
Ick. Trying to get a vague idea of the speed, I had a look at
/proc/interrupts to see how fast it was counting up. Huh? Where is it?

# setserial /dev/ttyS2
/dev/ttyS2, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03e8, IRQ: 0

Yeep! Somewhere in the 2.1.97 upgrade my serial port IRQ got lost!
But things kept right on working, albeit a trifle slowly.
I'm impressed that it worked at all.
