2.1.98/SMP IDE still crashes

Same test as before, a make zImage, an ls -lR, and two dd's.
Messages (repeated about five times before soft lock): "unexpected
timeout" and "reset: success"

This is the same result as 2.1.97. Dual ppro w/ 2 IDE drives.
2.1.96 is still running fine. It also does better at recognizing my
opti933 card with the mad16 driver, though it's still about 50/50...
