3c59x.c Dies after a few minutes

I just put in a 3COM PCI 3C590X Adapter in this machine. I have been
using this adapter for quite some time on my, otherwise identical,
SMP machine. I wanted to have the same configuration for all three
of my machines in my office.

The 3c59x.c driver will fail to interrupt after a few minutes of
operation on a non-SMP machine. The same board, and same driver
works fine on my SMP machine.

There are no errors in the logs. Just a complete network interface
failure. I can duplicate it over-and-over again so, if anybody
has any patches to try......
