I am having problems getting 2.0.34 to boot:
(scsi0:0:-1:-1) Scanning channel for devices
(scsi1:0:-1:-1) Scanning channel for devices
(scsi0:-1:-1:-1) Bad scbptr 255 during SELTO
(scsi0:-1:-1:-1) References SCB 255 not valid during SELTO
SCSISEQ = 0x12 SEQADDR = 0x9 SSTAT0 = 0x15 SSTAT1 =
0x88
scsi : detected total.
... then later (after network and ppp has been initialized) ...
Kernel Panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 08:02
(scsi0:-1:-1:-1) Bad scbptr 255 during SELTO
(scsi0:-1:-1:-1) References SCB 255 not valid during SELTO
SCSISEQ = 0x12 SEQADDR = 0x9 SSTAT0 = 0x15 SSTAT1 =
0x88
What seems to be the problem here? The machine:
HP NetServer LH100 (Pentium 100MHz)
32 MB Ram
Aic7855 controller, driving:
Quantum XP345550J Hdu
HP C1533A Dat
Toshiba XM-5401TA Scsi Cdrom
The machine ran almost rocksolid under 2.0.33, except for some strange
lockups. Out NT-Admin had the same 'lockup-problems' and it helped
when he changed the DAT.
Could it be the DAT which is causing problems here?
I have reverted back to 2.0.33, but I'd gladly supply you with any
information you might need.
Best regards,
Brian
(* Please * don't just say, upgrade aic7xxx to x.y.z without justifying
why I should do the upgrade!)
