Back in the late 2.1.9x kernels no sound at all (so we are getting better).
2.1.104, 105, 106 all lock-up. Haven't tried the ones in between due to a
hard drive crash.

Alan wants me to apply a patch of his and see what happens; after that I'll
report back.
