Not completely true. On _very_ quiet system, where nothing _ever_
runs, so not even access times from files are being dirty, hdparm -S
might work forever.

Q: What is difference between bdflush-1.5 and updated-1.3? I saw
sources for both and they seemed to me as two completely separate
trees of same thing. bdflush-1.5 seemed a bit more current. Can
someone enlighten me?
