I guess that would be kernel version 0.12 with libc
version 1.x (did we even have dynamic linking back
then?).
Unix uses a 32-bit signed number to mark the number
of seconds since 00:00 jan 1st 1970.
This scheme will hold until feb 2038, at which time
the smallest integer supported by computers will be
64 bits anyway...
This 64 bit scheme will hold out for approximately
60 million times the life expectancy of the universe,
so we don't have much problems there either :-)
