mounting .../somedir/ via nfs is fine.
then mounting .../somedir/subdir from a hard disk is also fine.
but instead mounting .../somedir/subdir via nfs, too doesn't work :
rpc errors. problem with 2.1.10x kernels includeing to 106ac1 ...

is this a local errro on my machine, or do you have this problem, too ?
2.0.34 and 33 and 34preX work fine.

maybe this could be a reason : i'm useingin nfsroot, and them mounting /var
via hard disk (or, if this fails for some reason, via network).
