It looked like the patch was the same as 111pre1, so I went for the
prepatch. It doesnt fix it. Here's how you can reproduce the problem (it
doesnt let you scroll even a line back)

Switch to another vc and back to clear the buffer, then:

lightside:~/mail# clear; perl -e 'for (my $i=0; $i<384; $i++) { print "$i\n"; }'

... Out of subject, ppp works fine here as a module (pppd is 2.2 patched, tho)
