It's an ISA card. I had the same problem when I tried an AWE32.

I tried it with two computers, just keeping the data on the disks.
I had:
Board: ASUS P/I-P55TP4XE and a P133
Graphics: ATI mach64 PCI
SCSI: Adaptec 2940U PCI
Now I have:
Board: Gigabyte GA-686BX and a P350
Graphics: Matrox Millenium II
SCSI: Adaptec 2940UW PCI (all UW drives)
I had no success getting rid of this problem even when I replaced all hardware.
