Safest route is to try it on a read-only partition.. if it seems to work
fine with that, get gutsy and try it full bore.
I've only found 2 machines that hated it (a 386/40) and a crummy DTC
VLB controller driven 486..
I run all my home boxes with -u1 ... ranging from a 486/66 to a K6-3d 300.
It takes a bit of cpu overhead away.. not sure about specific performance
increases but it "seems" nicely faster.
