Within XFree86-3.3.2 startup phase there is inside the beast
such a code which consistently fails when:
- it is compiled with egcs (any version)
- you use anything else than 8bpp
This has NOTHING to do with the kernel version you run, only
with the fact that gcc-2.7/2.8 vs. egcs produce different
result in one particular bad source expression.
RedHat has my patch for it in their RH 50/51 RPM updates.
