You just have to get over the misconception that if you use
devfs, you can't have normal device nodes in place for pre-
devfs-mount phase.
You can mount the devfs filesystem on /dev/ directory, never
mind what the content of that directory is -- thus you CAN
have /dev/console node in there even though it will become
inaccessible when the devfs is mounted on top of the
directory. But then, that /dev/console, and the one
opened via devfs overlay should have same major/minor values,
so how can you tell the difference ??
