There is a reason why we fought (and won) a revolution.
and English is a poor imitation of Latin. I suppose to some.
>I often wonder why people still call American English "English", when
>obviously there are enough differences and therefore it should be renamed
>American. Why not?
For the same reason that Spanish is Spanish, even if it is spoken in Spain,
Mexico, or Argentina, with different words, and meanings. " Hey I speak
_Mexican_ " or "hey I speak _Argentinian_". There is enough similarity to
be the same language. And all these languages are 'dialects ' of Latin.NO?
It isn't England English is it?
>We call you guys Americans. There's ample precedent
>necessary there. Also, it's a trifle embarrassing to be lumped in with
>that bunch of upstarts in the New World just because they use the same
>lauguage.. :o) Just a joke..
There is a reason why we fought (and won) a revolution. : )
