It does, on most of the machines out there[1]. Since 1.2.13, if you
patch the kernel. (2.0.36 and 2.1 come pre-patched for your
enjoyment, as far as I know.)

[1: some eisa bus machines (Compaq comes immediately to mind) REFUSE
to tell you how much memory you have, no matter which published
bios call you might want to use. Very annoying.]
