I've ported my boot logo selection patch to 2.1.117 (was just ignorring
a few warnings from patch) and added new stuff:
1.) The Description of a boot logo has still to be in a comment in the
first line of the header file. This comment can be in C like syntax
(i.e. /* Description */) or in C++ like syntax (i.e. // Description).
2.) I added two logos I made - one for Linux 2.1 and one for Linux 2.2.
The only box with a Vesa 2.x card I have is not available at the
moment - so I can't tell if my Logos work at all - but I hope so :-)
3.) My patch includes now the ppm2logo and logo2ppm programs from Bernd
Paysan (bernd.paysan@gmx.de).
The patch is available from <http://www.clifford.at/misc/>. The
uncompressed version is called "logo-select.patch-117" - the bzip2
compressed one "logo-select.patch-117.bz2".
Logo Designers: If you created a nice logo - please send it to me so I can
include it in the patch.

PS: IMHO it would be nice if we could make a simple logo the default logo.
If the user then likes to have a drinking, smoking or eating penguin as
logo: he is free to select his favorite logo. (And he will do!)
