I have compiled kernel 2.1.116 and I use it in conjunction with univbe and
loadlin.. I have a PCI S3 Virge/DX 325. Output from univbe looks like
this:
Before After
VBE 1.2 3.0
Linear FB not supported 64 MB
Graphics Modes 20 62
However, when i tell the kernel to use mode 0109, or 0110, or 0111, the
display always goes blank but I hear the computer booting up, mainly the
hard drive clacking around..
Also, I compiled the 2.1.119 kernel from the CVS archives, and:
(stuff about Am5x86-WB04 processor...)
checking 'hlt' instruction...
and here it halts.
Annoying :(
