Definitely a valid concern. I believe the environments for HP and
Solaris have both shown promise. I haven't heard about any actual
running drivers yet, but I believe the proof of concept is there.
Linus mentioned committees (sp?). I think that's what is slowing it
down more than anything. It's tough to get HP/Sun/etc./etc. to agree on
much of anything as far as implementation.
So, I think it'll work, it'll be a while though.
