That was the intent of my message really.. think about how long 2.1 has dragged
on.. and I do really mean dragged on. The 1.3 cycle was much much shorter and
right now we're in a situation where distributions are back-porting features
in 2.1 to 2.0 so they can have a stable, "current" kernel to distribute. In
an ideal beta-stable cycle, that wouldn't be needed.
