I don't know exactly when this started happening, but with recent kernels,
every once in a while my isdn connection goes into ULTRA slow mode. This
only happens after the machine has been up and working away all day. I can
check my mail etc. in the morning just fine, but come evening (when my
connection comes back alive) a ping to my provider takes over a second.
(Normally, it's 40ms) Rebooting always clears this up.
Below is a tcpdump of me trying to retreive mail. It's only 45 lines long
for 5 minutes of net activity :). Fetchmail terminated on POP timeout.
After a reboot, everything worked fine as always when this happens.
My setup is kernel 2.1.122 on P150MMX w. Teles 16.3, rawip connection with
latest isdn4linux ipppd. Isdn driver is stock 2.1.122 at the moment.
Just holler if any additional info is needed/helpful. I would have reported
this sooner, but tcpdump was printing 'truncated ip.. bla bytes missing'.
