on my machine I noticed it takes a hell of a lot of time to delete big files -
a 650MB CD image file takes at least 10 seconds with the hard disk being heard
constantly.
This seems to be independant of kernels (I tried
2.(0.(33|34|35)|1.(106|107|115|119)), all with an AHA2940 and a Tekram
DC-390F(UW). I have two IBM DDRS-34430 4.3G UW hard disks and one FUJITSU 4.3GB
UW, which all display the same problem. This all happens both with a P100 Asus
p55tp4n and a K62-300 EPOX MVP3E-M, both with 32MB and 64MB EDO PS/2 RAM (of
which normally at least 10MB was allocated as cache).
Any hints from the gurus? :)
